It wasn’t a good start as, due to some electrical problem, Roast2Coast’s coffee machine wouldn’t work. But Team Committee swung into action and everyone had another enjoyable get-together on Saturday morning. Thank you to Roast2Coastfor generously donating milk, coffee, cakes and paper cups !! The morning raised £120+ for the hall.
The trustees signed the papers for transfer of the hall from the original Trust, set up when the hall was built in the 1950’s, to the new SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation). This means that the hall governance is all up to date (Kate’s mission as Chair), and the hall Board is in a position to attract funding and carry out major works if ever needed. Importantly, it also means that, like for a limited company, the volunteer Board members now have limited personal liability.
We also said a big “Thank You” to Sarah F-M, our Trust President. Sarah has given great service to the hall committee since coming to the village with her late husband Richard 21 years ago – also as Secretary and Chair – and is especially remembered for the Quiz Nights she ran with Richard.
