This week’s weather sees us with a bit of everything. After a cold night Monday morning is bright and sunny clouding over in the afternoon. Tuesday is getting warmer 5-7C degrees, a bright start but some showers will show before lunch and then clouding over. With westerly winds on Wednesday and Thursday we are seeing heavy clouds both days but warming up to 9C degrees! Friday slightly cooler but still light clouds overhead.
Only managed to rake the leaves up from the lawn areas so the paths are still to be done. I blame all the lack of unfinished tasks on the short daylight hours we are having! What a lame excuse!
Last year I took hardwood cuttings which are ready to dig up and pot on eg. Buddleias and Sambucus. I will take some more cuttings of Viburnums and push them in, in a shady “damp” part of the garden about 2/3 into the soil. There is usually a good success rate with taking hardwood cuttings.
The birds are keeping David on his toes, cleaning the birdbaths and keeping the feeders topped up, apples too are a favourite with the blackbirds.
Definitely starting thinning the Pine trees this week which should bring good light into the young woodland ready to plant young unusual trees in the weeks to come.
