The week ahead looks rather good, slightly cooler, with Monday and Tuesday dry and sunny. Wednesday if we are lucky we might have some light showers in the morning and dry later on. Thursday looks to be cloudy but dry and Friday follows the theme of Wednesday!
I will continue watering the rhododendrons and camellias weekly to promote the flower buds in spring. Also I will deadhead roses and dahlias every few days and anything else that the secateurs come across!
We have started restacking our wood piles, before the winter weather hits us, to concentrate them round the northern and western edges of our young woodland, hopefully acting as wind breaks.
Whether we will get our wildlife hedge cut this coming week I don’t know although the weather would be perfect! I have been browsing the plant catalogue for a long time now and will be ordering some tulip and lily bulbs for spring and the late summer.
There are definitely more butterflies now in our garden with the warmer weather we have had so we will watch them and count how many we have of the different varieties, they are just such beautiful insects!
