Garden Tips#20

June 13, 2016 by Gwynne Hetherington

We should hopefully get some decent rain this week for the garden plants. Monday looks to be overcast in the morning, but sunny in the afternoon with temperatures of 18 degrees. On Tuesday there should be a welcome damp morning, getting quite heavy between 11am and 1pm. On Wednesday, light showers in the morning turning dry in the afternoon. The temperatures are falling to 11 degrees on Thursday with light showers all day. On Friday we should see an overcast sky all day. The weekend looks encouraging with rising temperatures.

The main task for this week with us is edging all the lawns, also some smaller things to do eg, clean the bird bath and refill with fresh water. The same applies to our formal pond.

Two hanging baskets need planting up with begonias we brought on,  also the wallflowers need dead heading. Lastly I will lift some stray daffodils and replant them with the same kind in a different part of the garden.

The garden is colouring up here and there and it is a joy to see all the flowers gradually opening up.
