Lovely to experience Spring weather like last weekend, sunshine and hail showers, very confusing for our dog!
The weather this week does not seem to bring much warmth as yet. It looks fairly dry with sunny spells, quite a bit of southerly winds, except for Wednesday which seems to be light showers and damp.
The herbaceous borders took much longer to cut back than I anticipated even with David’s help, but the Delphiniums and Hostas will get a covering of sawdust, (same as animal bedding) which will keep the slugs at bay for the whole season!
I am desperate to cut our lawn and will just top it, lifting the cutting blade on the lawn mower to its highest position.
There are some perennial plants to split and move to another place and they will be well watered in afterwards. If anyone would like a young Whitewashed Bramble, I have some suckers to pot up and find a new home for. Very attractive stems in the winter months with lime green leaves during the growing season.
Never got round to repot the house plants and to sow more perennial seeds, so no rest for the wicked!
Any hoeing on a dry and windy day is going to be very rewarding, the weeds won’t last for long.
With the clocks moved 1 hour forward the daylight is growing longer, which suits me just fine.
