A very wet and damp week to come. Monday morning rain, but the afternoon should see us with a dry spell with temperatures of 10-13C degrees. Tuesday and Wednesday look very wet indeed – even with gale force winds!! Thursday seems to be cloudy but dry. Friday back to rain all day and the temperature up to 17C degrees.
Well the garden certainly appreciates all the rain we are getting this week. The plants have shot ahead of themselves in the past two weeks making me think that by July all the flowering will be over?! So we will cut some perennials back so they will flower a few weeks later.
A few day to day tasks need doing such as pinching out any side shoots of the tomato plants, deadhead roses and perennial plants and tieing in the new fresh growth of the rambling roses. Also still looking out for the red Lily Beetle and aphids on individual perennials.
One thing is for sure, the greenhouse will get my undivided attention this week – the geraniums in there need a lot of t.l.c.
The weeds are not far away and weeding is still a daily task but enjoyable!
