What a long spell of dry, sunny and windy weather we have enjoyed! And it will continue for this week as well, although the temperatures will not reach much over 10-12C. The winds too will be persistent going anti -clockwise from north to west, to south east and east again.
Although we have a little rain or drizzle we really can still do with very much more, especially the vegetables we sowed a few weeks ago, so we will put the sprinkler on them to help them along.
The vegetable seeds we have sown and potted on have now reached the stage to plant out in their allotted vegetable bed and those that will stay in the poly tunnel have been planted also. The vegetables of the cabbage family have been covered with “Wondermesh” to keep out the Cabbage White butterflies. I do need to carry on with sowing more lettuce seeds, both outdoors and in the tunnel.
There is still a little well rotted dung left over which the roses will appreciate! Then there are numerous self-seeded young plants dotted around the perennial border which I will need to dig up and pot on ready for our Garden Open Days. And not to forget every spare moment I have, I will need to weed out the many weeds that are currently laughing at me!!
Enjoy your garden as we do, there is so much happening it takes my breath away.
