Another season has started with the Snowdrop show, always a cheery sight, they will be followed with many more spring bulbs. The buds on shrubs and trees are slowly growing and “plumping up”. A very exciting time to come, seeing and watching something new appearing every day. Nature at its very best!
We have been busy making our stone paths more foot friendly and thinning our pine trees. With the latter we have stopped for now due to birds looking for nest sites and will continue again late Autumn.
During the next few weeks we will be cutting back the herbaceous borders, removing the old growth and weeding them. Over cups of coffee, the seed list will be discussed and decisions made about what we would like to grow this season. So by the end of February we will be ready with our chosen vegetable and perennial seeds and we will be on track and keeping you up to date with the weekly changes in our garden calendar.
While being in the garden we will have the wonderful songs of the many wild birds to keep us company.
