Another very cold night -1C degrees followed by a cold, dry Monday morning with sunshine coming through only about 2C degrees, a very typical December day! High pressure coming from the south influencing the next few days. Tuesday, a chilly, dry morning, rain and winds from the southwest. Wednesday morning, lots of cloud, maybe some light rain, and a dry and balmy 13C degrees afternoon. Thursday too, a warm 11C degrees with dry, sunny spells in the morning, dry and cloudy in the afternoon. Lastly Friday, cloudy, maybe some showers in the morning but dry for the remainder of the day!
We are getting on well with the thinning of the young woodland and will continue with that task of processing the young Pine trees. It certainly feels more open and airy, more natural.
With the mild days to come it will be perfect to clean out the gutters, with being not a very energetic job at the bottom of the ladders!
Also the milder weather will give us a boost to start scraping out soil of 3-4cm between the stones in the stone paths and replacing the soil with pea gravel. This will make walking far easier especially for the more elderly visitors. This job will take us well into January and maybe into February, it’s just as well we love doing what we do!
