On Monday we welcome some very much needed rain, still mild with 12C degrees. Cold air from the north-west is coming from Tuesday onwards with temperatures from 5-9C degrees. Rain showers in the morning are very likely but it should be dry in the afternoon. A frosty morning for Wednesday, dry and sunny and 9C degrees for the remainder of the day. Thursday is cloudy and dry and colder with 7C degrees. Friday morning sees us with some rain, the afternoon looks to be dry and slightly warmer at 9C degrees!
Our Begonias and Dahlias have been lifted and stored in our frost free shed. We have still a lot of raking of leaves to get through – a good work out!
Still to move some shrubs eg. Hydrangeas to a more suitable position. We have cleared the polytunnel of the Tomatoes and Courgettes so all is ready for a good dig over of the soil.
We will be leaving a few sheets of corrugated iron on the soil to provide ‘tunnels’ for small mammals, reptiles and amphibians to hibernate. We look forward to peeking under the sheet to see what is hiding under it!!
