Garden Tips#31

September 19, 2016 by Gwynne Hetherington

A good week ahead weatherwise for us. Dry and sunny with temperatures of 15 -16 degrees C for the first half of the week, the second half is more cloudy with slightly lower temperatures.

It is lovely to be back after a week of walking The Great Glen Way! The garden still has some surprises and colour to be enjoyed.

We lifted our potatoes of Charlotte and Purple Salad Bowl yesterday leaving them to dry for a day, then bagging them up and storing them in a cool and dry place. A good yield to last us till spring!

Still to cut our native wildlife hedge, tidy up the roses and a lot of cutting back in the meadow area. Plenty of deadheading and weeding in the flower borders. All in all plodding around with a wheel barrow and stopping to admire the butterflies!

If there is anyone who would like a blackcurrant bush please let us know, we have too many and a few need a new home!
