Well it is very cold today, but it looks as if it is going to get a bit milder from tomorrow onwards. Friday looks to be a damp day!
This week I will split some perennials that need thinning out. The same will happen with some bulbs, Snowdrops that are not flowering yet and Tulips too need to be dug up and separated.
We have also done some minor tree pruning before the sap starts to rise. We still have some grass clippings from last year which will be spread around our fruit bushes and trees as a mulch to keep the moisture in and when it rots down it will give our sandy soil a bit of substance.
I see there is a garden in Forres, that has a huge selection of Snowdrops, that is open to the public by arrangement until mid-March. Go on the Scotland’s Garden Scheme website and have a look if you are into Snowdrops!
