This week we have a high pressure staying with us, so a dry warm start on Monday, 15 degrees. Getting cooler and overcast with north easterly winds on Tuesday and Wednesday, 12 degrees. Possible light rain on Thursday, but on the whole dry for Friday and the weekend ahead.
You can guess what my main pastime is this week – more weeding and hoeing! A few smaller tasks to think about like watering any trees and shrubs that we have planted so far this year as well as watering the vegetable plots. The potatoes have been earthed up a few days ago, which will continue for the next few weeks.
Need to check the roses for mildew and trim back any dead leaves and shoots blackened by the last cold night a week or two back. Still to fill any gaps in the flower border with perennials and annuals.
David got a lovely surprise when scooping out blanket weed and algae out of our pond, finding a big goldfish in his net, someone we had not seen for about 10 months since we put it and its friends in the pond!
At last we have completed the sundial roundel and now the plants have to fill out to finish it off! Next project will be underway soon!!
