What a superb weekend we have had!
This week we start with a cold and unsettled first few days with showers during the night and on Tuesday. On Wednesday quite a few showers. Thursday and Friday still cold and windy.
We managed to dig in manure in two beds, but we never got round to digging in manure into the potato bed, so we had better get on with it!
I did buy some Lily bulbs, but due to the hard frosty nights they never got planted so hopefully I will get them in this week.
With all the cold freezing weather the birds are still very grateful and greedy for the seeds, apples, bread and raisins and water. If we are lucky we might see some winter migrants such as Redwings and Fieldfares.

It is still a good time to plant new shrubs and roses as long as the ground is not frozen or waterlogged, especially planting before Wednesday, so that they get a watering.
Thanks Gwynne – we did have an amazing weather weekend and was outside for many hours in the sunshine. We planted some raspberries and gooseberries, so hopefully they will be ok! Will look out for Redwings and Fieldfares, but will need to research what they look like, so many lovely things to learn. We are seeing crocuses opening everywhere from planting them last autumn, so nice to see them. Good luck with digging in manure in potato bed this week.
